Hey everyone!

To all high schoolers: good luck with concert season!
To all college folk: good luck with midterms!

Music programs have been in session for 3 months now since Winter break. Let's look back and take a moment to appreciate the good times!

1. What is your favorite piece you have played this semester?
2. What is your favorite memory of a performance this semester?
3. Have you recently made a new friend through music?
4. Have you gotten/played a new instrument, or rediscovered how much you love your own instrument?
5. What is something you look forward to in the next couple of months?

Balancing music and busy lives is certainly stressful, but you know it is worth it! Take a moment to think about why you picked up your instrument in the first place whenever you start to feel overwhelmed. Breathe deep, stay positive, and help music live on!

I'm a bit late, but I do recall what happened last season.
1. I loved playing First Suite in E flat - Holst. We never really perform it in front of an audience because our concert was cancelled, but practicing it was very fun!!
2. Our spring concert was cancelled because a lot was happening (REALLY terrible stuff). It was my first year in a band too, but I loved it. My favorite memory would have to default to my first concert EVER. It was a very nice experience to be there in front of an audience and play for them.
3. Yes, I met a couple of people that I get along with very well. My oboe friend who is a music theory genius and wants to be a composer; my trombone buddy - he's nicest human being you will ever see, seriously, there's not an inkling of evil in him); cornet friend - she's really good and she's nice too; trumpet friend - just recently learned that he also plays french horn, we need him because our F. horn player can't play to save their lives; and percussionist/baritone player friend - she's a great bass drum player, but for some reason, our band director had play baritone for half the concert season.
4. Yup, first instrument - valve trombone. I love it! I wan't really discriminated against for playing the odd man out, but I just like making those kinds of jokes because that's what people would expect.
5. For the next concert season, we're going to play The Planets Suite - Holst. I really can't wait to play this, it's going to be amazing!!!
But for now, marching band takes the stage.
G'day!
